What is Laser Therapy?
DeJohn Bodywork is offering K-Laser treatments along with ART or massage and individual laser packages. K-Laser is warm, high powered, deep tissue laser therapy. The laser uses specific wavelengths of light to induce a therapeutic effect in the body to target damaged or distorted tissue and accelerate the healing process. K-Laser therapy can provide dramatic results through photobiostimulation.
Laser treatment helps to accelerate wound healing, reduces pain, increases circulation, and decreases swelling in the treated area therefore promoting a return to normal function and lifestyle. The process works so well on a cellular level that it is possible for a patient to see results after one treatment.
Common conditions treated by K-Laser therapy:
Repetitive Stress Injuries
Sports Injuries
Back, Shoulder, & Knee Pain
Arthritis
Fibromyalgia
Plantar
Fascitis
Ligament Sprains
Tennis Elbow
Neck Pain
Muscle Strains
Trigger Point Release
Auto & Work Related Injuries
Surface Wound Repair
Bunion Pain
Relief from too much gardening
Stiff neck from that bad night of sleep
Post surgical knee replacement pain, circulation, and ROM assistance
What to expect:
The K-Laser is a hand-held device that is moved over the treatment area by the practitioner for 3-9 minutes depending on treatment condition and area treated. Most patients report a warm sensation and occasionally a mild tingling without pain in the treated area. High powered laser therapy has been used around the world for over 20 years and is finally gaining traction in the US. Very few minor and temporary side effects have ever been reported from laser therapy when administered by a certified laser technician. Occasionally a patient may find that old injuries or pain syndromes may feel aggravated for a few days as the healing response from the laser takes effect.
Treatment plans:
Acute conditions may be treated daily. Chronic conditions respond well to treatments 2-3 times per week to promote change and then tapering back once the condition has improved. The patient may feel results after one treatment but usually a series of at least 3-4 sessions is recommended and chronic conditions may take 6-10 sessions for the best cumulative effect.
An alternative to symptom relief: K-Laser healing:
Laser therapy is a comfortable treatment for acute and chronic conditions. It stimulates all cell types including skin, muscle, ligament, cartilage, nerves, etc. With over 1200 studies worldwide, the results have been positive for K-laser healing response for chronic pain, athletic injuries, post surgery ROM, contusions, repetitive strain injuries, and normal daily lifestyle conditions.
K-Laser with ART and Massage:
K-Laser treatment in conjunction with these complementary healing modalities helps to increase the effectiveness of the treatment. At DeJohn Bodywork every ART session and massage comes with a treatment area of K-Laser included as needed (a $45 value). What are you waiting for? Book online today.
